What is Online Speedometer?
Online Speedometer is a web tool that measures your speed. It uses the GPS in your device to track how fast you move. You can walk, run, or drive, and it shows your speed in real time.
How to use this Online Speedometer?
Open the web page in your browser on a phone or tablet. Tap "Start" to begin tracking your speed. You can pick your preferred unit (m/s, km/h, or mph). If you prefer a digital display, turn off the analog gauge view.
How it work?
The speedometer listens to your device's location data. It checks the change in your position over time. Then it calculates your speed. It keeps tracking of your distance, maximum speed, and average speed during each session.
How to enable location (guide for iOS and Android)?
On iOS, go to Settings, then Privacy, then Location Services. Find your browser in the list and set "Allow Location Access" to "While Using the App."
On Android, open Settings, then Location, then App Permissions. Find your browser and choose "Allow" when you see the location permission.
Why we need location access?
The speedometer uses your exact position to calculate speed. Without location access, it cannot track your distance or movement. This means it cannot display a correct speed reading.
Is it safe (all data inside browser)?
All calculations happen in your browser. The app does not send your coordinates to a server. Your data stays on your device.
Is The Speedometer Accurate?
Accuracy depends on your device's GPS. When your phone or tablet has a strong GPS signal, the speed reading is reliable. A weak signal may cause minor errors in the data.
